I never met this family before but as soon as they pulled up to our session in a six door truck I knew they had to be awesome. I LOVE shooting large families. They're so much fun and so full of personality. Kim and Jared are amazing parents.. handling the crazies with love and patience. Aaand they have created the most beautiful of children. Zander, the oldest, acting like the young man he is. Ariella with her spunky personality and to-die-for curly goldilocks. Huxley, the youngest, is SUCH a ham. And Kalina, the sweetest and most caring little gal.
This was my first time working with an Autistic child. Even though Kim told me when she booked the session it had totally slipped my mind.. and honestly photographing Kalina wasn't any different than working with any other child. I always let children do pretty much what they want to do when photographing them. I observe their interests, I let them have fun! At the end of the day I want the children to enjoy the session and not feel 'forced'. I want the images to capture their personalities.
